HelpMaster Pro has been designed and tested to run on Microsoft Windows 2000, 2003, XP and Vista. Can I modify existing reports that ship with HelpMaster Pro? Answer: Yes, as long as you have a licenced copy of Crystal Reports v10 or higher How many reports does HelpMaster Pro ship with? Answer: 140 Crystal Reports v10     Upgrading HelpMaster Pro   Do I always need to upgrade my database? How do I know when to do so? Answer: No, you do not always need to update your database.  When a new version of HelpMaster Pro is released, the supporting documentation will indicate whether a database patch is required.  Alternatively you can run the Database and Reports Wizard and attempt to upgrade your database.  If it does not require updating, the Database and Reports Wizard will indicate this. What is the basic process for upgrading HelpMaster Pro? Answer: Download the latest version Install the latest version, selecting the modules from the install package that you wish to install on one machine Run the Database and Reports Wizard to upgrade your live HelpMaster Pro database.  Not every upgrade requires this process.  If your database does not need upgrading, the Database and Reports wizard will tell you this.  This process wil update your database as well as deploy the latest versions of the HelpMaster Pro reports. Answer: Yes. A database dictionary is available for each version of the HelpMaster Pro database.  This is available via the downloads section of this website. The database dictionary is a compiled helpfile will help you to understand more about the HelpMaster Pro database, as well as any schema and data changes. Can I get access to the SQL Server database? Answer: Yes.  There is no encryption, or any other security restrictions imposed on the HelpMaster Pro database (other than what you implement).  This means that you have full control over the visibility, schema, views, security management and anything else that a Microsoft SQL Server database has.  This is great news for DBAs who need such visibility into the database to perform their job. What database does HelpMaster Pro use?
